Boujie On A Budget: Best Drugstore Bronzers

Boujie On A Budget: Best Drugstore Bronzers

In this week’s edition of living that champagne life on a wine cooler budget… we’re talking all about bronzers! As you guys know, I’m a vampire. I hate going out in the sun. I’m terrified of getting wrinkles and never go out without SPF 5000 on. Since you won’t see me sizzling poolside any time soon, bronzer is the next best thing. A little (ok maybe a lot) of bronzer is perfect for brushing on your cheekbones, forehead, nose & even collar bone for a faux-beachy glow. I’m all about finding a good deal, so I tracked down the best bronzers on a budget.

The Best Drugstore Bronzers

I went to Target & Walgreens this week to pick up a ton of bronzers. I bought probably 20 different types to try out. Just to make sure I was giving you guys the true DL. I narrowed it down and picked my top 6. The best part? None of them cost more than $9!!!!

Milani Baked Bronzer

Milani’s bronzer gives the perfect amount of shimmer, without looking like you doused yourself in glitter. I love how lightweight it – thanks to it’s baked consistency. It’s really easy to work with and build a soft gold glow.

Physicians Formula Powder Bronzer

I love Physicians Formula products, so I wasn’t surprised that their bronzer was another winner. It’s a more natural-looking tan that doesn’t have shimmer. So it’s the perfect every-day bronzer. It also comes with a little brush, which is nice for throwing into your bag – you know for glow on the go! It’s super light weight with a fairly sheer coverage and matte finish. I’d also recommend it for all skin types, which is helpful!

CYO Bronzing Rocks Rock ‘N’ Gold

A lot of the time, bronzing rocks are a total mess. Looking at the packaging, I prepared myself for a full shimmer explosion. But it was surprisingly super easy to use and not messy! I love how subtle the shimmer is. It’s the perfect highlighting bronzer to use on your brow bone, cheekbones and chest. I recommend swirling a large fluffy brush over the bronzing rocks and applying on the areas the sun naturally touches.

COVERGIRL truBLEND Bronzer

This bronzer is another baked blend, similar to the Milani Baked Bronzer. I found that this one had more intense pigments, giving a bit darker bronze. The pigments blend really easily though and would work well on any skin tone. I also really like that the formula is oil free, meaning it would be great for people with sensitive skin.

e.l.f. Cosmetics Contouring Blush & Bronzing Powder

I’m obsessed with the line of e.l.f. products because they’re so cheap, but still great quality! They’re literally all from $1 – $6! I have all three versions of their blush & bronzing powder & think they’re a pretty great Nars dupe. I really like the Turks & Caicos palette because the blush acts as a lighter bronzer. It also has a ton of pigment, so you have to use use it sparingly. Apply it little by little and build the color slowly. I use the light colored bronzer as my “main bronzer” and the darker color to contour my cheek bones & nose.

Rimmel Natural Bronzer

Fun fact, Rimmel’s Natural Bronzer is America’s #1 Bronzer. It’s super natural and… wait for it… WATERPROOF! How awesome is that!? That means you can wear it when you’re at the beach or pool and not worry about it all washing off! It’s super light weight and velvety, which makes it really easy to apply and give a naturally bronzy look. Since it’s waterproof, it’s supposed to last for up to 10 hours! I haven’t worn it for that long yet, but I’m looking forward to bringing it on my next vacay!
